Watercolor White Daffodil, 1-session class ONLINE: Mar. 12
Description
March 12, EET 18.00-20.00
ONLINE, Live (En/Ro)
Although spring flowers are admired by many, white is widely recognized as one of the most challenging colors to work with in watercolor. This session will focus on mastering white through painting daffodils, which provide valuable practice with geometric forms and offer insight into botanical perspectives. While drawing will not be our central topic, participants will receive a digital copy of my sketch for easy transfer onto watercolor paper. You may alternatively bring your own sketches or work from a live model during the class. The main emphasis will be placed on exploring the properties of white, including its various hues, shades, and levels of transparency. During this two-hour workshop, we will cover color mixing, shading methods, and layering techniques essential for portraying subtle variations in yellow.
Required materials:
- One sheet of watercolor paper (A4 size, 300 gsm, hot pressed, satin finish).
- One sheet of transparent paper fro the drawing transfer
-
Pencil and eraser of your preference
-
A basic set of watercolor supplies, pointed-tip brushes (for example, Windsor & Newton Series 7, sizes 1 and 4) - a water container, and paper napkins.
This course is appropriate for individuals at both the beginner and intermediate levels.
This two-hour watch-and-practice format allows attendees to follow along as I demonstrate each step and provide detailed explanations; individuals may choose to observe or actively paint while listening. The class will be conducted in both English and Romanian, depending on the composition of the group.
Upon enrollment, which requires payment of a nonrefundable fee and submission of your address, you will receive a confirmation email, including a printable daffodil drawing and the Zoom login link. I look forward to sharing a meaningful and creative experience with you.
